100 Things I Love About Comics

I was really surprised at how quickly this list came together. I did it as sort of a stream of consciousness thing and then went back to reorder and group some things together like books and creators. I know that I'm missing names of particular creators or books I love, but I was limited to 100. I could probably list 500 things that I love about comics.

  1. Wednesday – New Comics Day!
  2. The first Wednesday of the month when I get my comics order from Mailordercomics. It is like having Christmas twelve times a year!
  3. My lunch hour at work. This is usually when I get most of my comics reading done.
  4. Heroes Convention in Charlotte, NC
  5. Newsarama and other comic news sites
  6. Bendis Board and a few other comic message boards
  7. Wizard
  8. Fanboy Rampage and other comic blogs
  9. Tradepaperbacks
  10. Bags, boards and long boxes - I just love the whole process of reading and caring for my books
  11. Previews and early solicitations on the web - I love seeing what is in store for the future.
  12. Comiclist - Charles LePage provides us with a breakdown of what books are coming from each publisher each and every week.
  13. The promise of new and exciting books like All-Star Batman And Robin by Frank Miller and Jim Lee, All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly and many others.

  16. Astonishing X-Men - This is hands down one of the best books being published today and could very well end up being the definitive X-Men story.
